• The patient is positioned on the stomach under local anaesthesia or most often under general anaesthesia for the liposuction of the saddlebags, the buttock pad and the back of the thigh. Showering is possible the day after the liposuction but baths are contra-indicated for 3 weeks.
Sporting activities must be interrupted during the most important period of the oedema, i.e. approximately 3 to 6 weeks after the liposuction.
The pain associated with a liposuction is variable, but as a rule it is very well relieved by painkillers.
Depending on the number of areas treated and the type of work performed, the patient can return to work after 3 to 7 days.
Above all, it is advisable not to expose the entry orifices to the sun or U.V. rays for 2 months and the liposuction areas for as long as haematomas persist.
