Arm liposuction allows the radical and definitive removal of fat located on the internal, external and posterior face of the arms that neither dieting nor sports can eradicate.
The “big arms” are at the origin of a complex that often prevents patients from wearing sleeveless tops. A sign of overweight or ageing, liposuction of the arms is a frequent request.
Before an arm
liposuction operation
During the consultation, Dr. Diacakis plastic surgeon in Paris will confirm whether it is possible to carry out a simple liposuction of the arms or if it is necessary to perform a facelift or if it is possible to refine the arm by simple liposuction by selecting certain areas of the arm.
Dr. Richard Diacakis will give you a consent, an estimate, a prescription of the necessary medication for before and after the operation and a preoperative check-up which the anaesthetist can complete if necessary.
You will also be prescribed a restraint or “bolero” which will be worn for approximately 2 to 4 weeks depending on the amount removed.
No medication containing aspirin should be taken during the 15 days preceding the liposuction.
Depending on the type of anaesthesia, you may be asked to fast (without drinking, eating or smoking) for 6 hours before the operation.
Arm liposuction is a cosmetic surgery procedure: it is not covered by social security.
The procedure of an
arm liposuction operation
Admission is on the morning of the operation.Dr. Diacakis plastic surgeon in Paris will see you in the morning in your room before the operation to take preoperative photos and draw the areas to be removed by simulating the result you can expect.
Arm liposuction is performed under local or general anaesthesia.
The micro-incisions are camouflaged in the fold between “the arm and the breast” and on the back of the elbow.
Arm liposuction lasts about 45 minutes and is performed with fine, foamy cannulas adapted to this location.
The Bolero (restraint) will be placed in the operating theatre.
After the arm
liposuction operation
It is necessary to plan 2 days of rest after the return home.
Showering is possible two days later.
Sporting activities should be interrupted for 3 to 4 weeks depending on the context.
The time needed to recover and recover from liposuction is proportional to the amount of fat extracted. For an arm liposuction the recovery is rapid (about 2 days).
When you go out, on the same day, it is essential to return home by taxi or accompanied by a person. It is forbidden to return home by public transport.
Bruises will disappear within 10 to 20 days after the operation when they exist.
Pain, although moderate, can be relieved by simple painkillers.
The threads are absorbable.

During the consultation an estimate will be given to you including :
- The costs of the clinic (operating theatre fees, accommodation in a single room)
- Surgeon’s fees
- The anaesthetist’s fees
- Assistance costs
- The application of 20% VAT on all benefits only if there is no social security coverage.
Only the first consultation is charged. Dr Richard Diacakis, a plastic surgeon in Paris, does not charge a fee for all other pre- or post-operative consultations, with no notion of time.
For any aesthetic surgery the patient has a minimum reflection period of 15 days.
